Spiritual Direction Ministry

Do you feel God calling you to a closer more personal relationship? Would you like guidance in knowing and carrying out God's will for your life? Don’t quite know how to get there? You may want to consider spiritual direction or spiritual companionship. Spiritual direction is an ancient practice in the Catholic Church going back to the time of Jesus. It is an ongoing relationship in which one person who wants to be more attentive to his or her spiritual life meets on a regular basis (approximately once a month) with a trained spiritual guide. The purpose is to become more attuned to God's presence in your life, to develop a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God and to better understand God’s will for you on a day to day basis.

A St. Jude parishioner is trained, experienced and graduate program certified in Christian spiritual guidance and would welcome your call for additional information.

Ron Mangine has been in spiritual direction for over 30 years and has been a graduate program certified spiritual director for over 10 years. He has completed the Graduate Program for Christian Spiritual Guidance from The Shalem Institute For Spiritual Formation in Baltimore, an associate of the Washington Theological Consortium. He also holds both a Bachelors Degree from Youngstown State University and a Masters Degree from Shippensburg State University.

Ron’s approach to Spiritual Direction, or more appropriately Spiritual Guidance, is to create a safe and nurturing environment for the directee through which the prayerful presence of God is encountered.
This is to cultivate an awareness of the presence, grace and direction of God in a directee’s daily life.
