Altar Servers

Job Title: Altar Server

Reports to: Parochial Vicar (Fr. Matthew Strickenberger)

Type of Position: Volunteer

Qualifications

  • 5th Grade or older
  • Member of St. Jude Church (or permission from Pastor / Parochial Vicar)

Term Length

  • Term: 1 year
  • Time Commitment: 1-2 Saturday/Sunday masses per month.

Requirements

  • Attend 2 day training session.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the Altar Server procedures for assisting the Priest with Sunday mass.
  • Follow the directions of the priest who is presiding at the mass you are serving.
  • Arrive 10 minutes before mass, sign in, and set up for mass as defined in the Altar Server Procedures.
  • Willingness to volunteer for holydays when special schedules are created.
  • Follow the Parish Absence policy by getting people to fill in if you cannot serve or call the Parochial Vicar.
